Job Title: Senior Engineering Manager – Nuclear

What you’ll be doing:
- Facilitating the Reactor Plant build and commissioning delivery programme through innovative engineering solutions and problem solving
- Ensuring the maintenance of Reactor Plant design intent during the build and commissioning phases
- Supporting assessment of plant design changes
- Assessing plant build maturity for entry into subsequent build phases
- Providing technically sound challenges to existing requirements
- Writing and presenting reports to communicate nuclear issues to a variety of internal and external stakeholders
- Liaising with MoD authorities, Naval Authorities and assurance agencies as required to ensure the technical solution can be accepted against the requirements (by the customer) and certified by the necessary Naval Authority
- Lead the assessment and management of complex inter-domain or inter-function issues identified during the close out of the final design, through change or through build/commissioning
- Technical approval of team outputs/RTG and PAG representative/WBTA Letter of Delegation
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Degree Qualified Engineering/Physical Science discipline; Electrical, Mechanical, Nuclear, Materials, Chemistry, Physics
- Knowledge of the nuclear industry and Nuclear Regulations
- Previous exposure to Engineering Lifecycle
- Previous Nuclear plant experience
Desirable:
- Proven technical report writing skills
- Experience in presenting to various senior stakeholders

The Platform Nuclear Engineering Department is a growing capability to accommodate the growing Nuclear Engineering demand on the business as the shipyard takes on an unprecedented challenge of delivering multiple classes of Naval Reactor Plant. The team covers activities ranging from design safety assurance, engineering/technical problem solving to practical innovation and improvement projects across the Engineering Lifecycle with a strong focus on the Build and Commission of the reactor plant. There is ample opportunity for professional development and career progression. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
