The Role of a Planning Director

As Planning Director, you will be at the forefront of our projects, ensuring the smooth delivery of planning permissions and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the planning process for multiple residential and commercial development projects
  2. Develop and implement innovative planning strategies aligned with business goals
  3. Manage relationships with local councils, planning consultants, and regulatory bodies
  4. Oversee planning applications, appeals, and compliance with statutory requirements
  5. Provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to junior team members

Essential Criteria for a Planning Director

  1. Demonstrable years of experience in consultancy, planning, development, or a related field.
  2. Strong client management and business development skills.
  3. Comprehensive understanding of planning regulations, development processes, and related legislation.
  4. Extensive contacts within the area of planning
  5. Relevant qualifications (e.g., a degree in planning, real estate, urban design, or a related discipline) are preferred.
  6. Chartered membership of the RTPI is highly desirable.
