Lanxess UK are looking for a Technical Sales Representative to join us remotely in our Inorganic Pigments Business Unit. While the role is remote, our clients are based in the south of England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Eire so you will be located in an ideal commuting distance for these areas and with easy access to an airport.


About the role!

Business Unit Inorganic Pigments are looking for a new field-based Technical Sales Representative to join the UK/Ire team. You will be responsible for the full range of products within the Business Unit (primarily inorganic pigments from the Bayferrox, Colortherm and Hydrocol brands) covering a number of markets, the largest being building products such as decorative concrete, as well as coatings, plastics and specialities. You will cover our region in the south of England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Eire, reporting to the Area Sales Manager (UK / Ire).


About You!

We are looking for an experienced individual who is familiar with the use of inorganic pigments through previous roles in a technical or sales function supplying to, or working within, concrete products or an allied industry. You will be comfortable working with people at a range of levels and must be an excellent communicator. Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics CRM and German language would be considered an advantage.


Main Responsibilities:

Your key responsibilities are to support, maintain and grow the market share in the territory based on developing market and application knowledge and relationships with all key parties.

  • Managing existing customer communications, conflict resolution and price negotiations.
  • Identify and follow up on new business opportunities, initiatives, and new application for products from new customers.
  • Keep up to date on technical information in respect of products, markets, competitor activities, quality standards and new developments.
  • Provide effective advice on a range of technical issues to customers, developing close relationships with the existing and potential customers giving the business unit the edge over our competition.
