Mode Search is proud to be partnered with an elegant and contemporary accessories brand in their search for a Senior Product Development and Production Manager, this is a Hybrid position with 3 days working in the office, 2 from home.


This role is based in Edinburgh, Scotland.


Please note that international relocators can be considered for this role and relocation / VISA support will be provided.


This brand's elegant and understated pieces are crafted from the finest quality leather. Due to recent investment, the brand is going through an exciting expansion plan across retail, wholesale and digital and are hiring for a number of newly created positions.


The successful applicant will have a team of 3 direct reports.


Responsibilities


  • Overseeing the full lifecycle of product development, sourcing, and production processes, from initial sketch to final delivery, while managing a diverse range of overseas suppliers.
  • Working closely with the design team to ensure their vision is executed to the highest standard, with key milestones met.
  • Collaborating regularly with Merchandising, Ecommerce, Wholesale, and Marketing to keep all parties informed and aligned with project timelines.
  • Shaping and executing our sourcing and supplier strategy, continuously driving improvements in quality, price, and innovation.
  • Actively troubleshooting and resolving issues within PD and Production, while providing robust support to the team.
  • Developing a deep understanding of supplier capabilities, materials, and production challenges, and guiding the team to find effective solutions.
  • Managing the entire production process from start to finish, with a focus on meeting critical deadlines and delivering exceptional quality standards.
  • Monitoring department KPIs to ensure we stay on track and meet our objectives.
  • Exploring and onboarding new suppliers to boost innovation, quality, and efficiency in delivery.
  • Building and nurturing strong global supplier relationships, fostering mutual growth and collaboration.
  • Leading initiatives to enhance product longevity, supporting our brand’s vision of being market leaders in sustainable, long-lasting products.
  • Staying informed on emerging technologies and sustainable practices to integrate them effectively, driving innovation and upholding social responsibility in our sourcing and production strategies.


Requirements


  • Over 10 years of relevant experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of managing small teams effectively.
  • Strong background in Product Development and Production, preferably within the luxury leather goods sector.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment, demonstrating flexibility in response to evolving demands.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, coupled with a highly motivated and success-driven attitude.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing abilities to effectively collaborate with suppliers and internal teams.
