I am searching for Senior or Staff Software Engineers (backend ) to contribute to the ongoing development of the next evolution of this Platform, focusing on scalable, performant, and customer-centric architecture. The primary technology stack includes AWS, Kubernetes, Python, Kafka, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and Kinesis. If you possess production-scale experience in a different technology stack (such as Go, Java, TypeScript, Scala, C#, etc.) and are interested in transitioning to a new stack, feel free to reach out to me directly for discussion about how that would work, and what timescales would be involved for the transition itself. Your role in the team: My client operate in an Agile cross-functional team consisting of Engineering, Product, and Design experts. The structure allows the client to build deep expertise and swiftly deliver valuable features and functionalities for this next-gen platform. You'll collaborate closely with a team of Engineers to construct and maintain a cloud-native event ingestion and processing architecture, built on AWS. These systems serve IoT and SaaS customers, offering analytics, real-time alerting, and logistics capabilities. Your team occupies a crucial position at the convergence of high-volume message ingestion, hardware deployment logistics, and RD. Your responsibilities include developing integrations for the upcoming hardware deployment generation, ensuring high availability and consistent processing performance. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will: Contribute to designing, building, and delivering the services and domains powering our platform, shaping the foundational features and capabilities of our platform. Demonstrate technical leadership by setting an example within your team/domain and across the organization. Apply your passion and expertise to influence the technical direction of our product and platform domains, utilizing top-tier languages, frameworks, and technologies. Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to take concepts from ideation to implementation, balancing the desire for rapid code deployment with the responsibility of accuracy. Play a role in enhancing our team culture, striving to leave things in a better state than you found them and streamlining our workflow. You'll also provide support, coaching, and mentoring to Engineers in our team, sharing your insights, knowledge, and experience as we learn and grow together. Who you are: You're a hands-on developer who thrives on solving intricate problems and crafting impactful solutions. Importantly, you're committed to making a meaningful difference. You proactively take ownership of outcomes from inception to completion, understanding what needs to be achieved within your domain and how collaborative efforts lead to optimal solutions. Your enthusiasm lies in refining your craft you comprehend the essentials of constructing quality, robust, and scalable solutions. You view challenges as learning opportunities, recognizing how both you and the team can continuously improve. Your approach is hypothesis-driven, skilfully sourcing, creating, and leveraging data to guide decision-making, enhance our evaluation processes, and make platform recommendations. Key qualifications: Proficiency in a high-order object-oriented language (especially Python, but also open to Go, Java, Scala, C#, etc.). Over 7 years of relevant development experience in building production-grade solutions. A focus on delivery, with solid exposure to event-driven architectures and high-volume data processing. Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines for production services. Familiarity with public cloud service platforms. Previous collaboration with remote teams spanning different time zones. Demonstrated ability to swiftly learn new technologies and apply that knowledge. Desirable skills: Familiarity with containerisation and Kubernetes. Practical production knowledge of service-oriented architectures. Experience with streaming technologies (e.g., AWS Kinesis, Kafka, etc.).
