With 8 direct reports, the HSE Manager will be part of the site Senior Leadership Team, contributing and playing a key part in driving the performance of the site to great Operational Effectiveness, supporting the site in managing its financial performance and ensuring we continue delivering to customer demand.

Our Nuneaton site, which operates 24/7 365, has recently undergone a major redevelopment programme where we have worked to double the capacity of the site, giving us the ability to supply even greater volumes of cheese to our retail customers. Going forward, the company will also be moving aspects of our cheese, functional ingredients and plant-based R&D and Laboratory functions into Nuneaton to improve collaboration and embed them more closely into the supply chain.


You will make contributions that matter by...

  • Engaging and continuing the site safety agenda and managing the change across the site in a safe manner with regards to all the new equipment and ways of working, given there are 200 new employees on site.

  • Implementing Group HSE strategies ensuring legal compliance with regulatory bodies and company standards are achieved and maintained.

  • Delivering HSE performance through continuous improvement and assurance of effective management systems, strategic initiatives, cultural development and leadership.

  • Working collaboratively with the Site Leadership Team, members of Group Health & Safety and Environment teams as well as external agencies, to meet all legal requirements.

  • Leading on the environmental agenda for the site and completing compliance reporting where needed.


You are best suited for the role if you

  • Have a strong track record within Health and Safety and have your NEBOSH diploma.

  • Have effective communication and influencing skills with all levels of colleagues on site.

  • Are able to hold people accountable and challenge individuals of all seniority throughout the business.

  • Enjoy identifying continuous improvement actions and taking them through to completion.
