Our client, a high growth and cutting- edge innovator of power solutions and equipment for the data processing industry have a requirement for a Commercial Manager to join their London based team on a permanent basis.


As Commercial Manager, you will:

  • Lead contract negotiations, manage compliance, and oversee claims and variations to safeguard company interests and ensure project alignment with terms.
  • Control project costs, oversee valuations and accounts, monitor budgets, and cash flows, and provide financial reporting to inform management decisions.
  • Manage procurement processes, negotiate subcontractor agreements, and ensure alignment with project requirements and budget constraints.
  • Collaborate with project teams to enhance cost efficiency, apply value engineering solutions, and ensure compliance with policies and industry standards.
  • Build and maintain strong client and subcontractor relationships, act as the primary commercial contact, and efficiently resolve claims and disputes.
  • Identify and address commercial risks and opportunities, working to maximize profit margins and minimize financial exposure.
  • Mentor and manage a team of quantity surveyors, structure the team to meet pipeline needs, and provide line management support.

To be a considered for the role of Commercial Manager, you will have the following experience:

  • Educated to Degree level in either Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Proven experience in Data Center construction or projects
  • Proven experience as a Commercial Manager, Senior Quantity Surveyor, or similar role in the construction industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction contracts, procurement, and financial management, with experience in FIDIC, JCT, or other relevant contract forms.
  • Strong understanding of cost control, budget management, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to influence key stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills had at least two direct reports previously and experience in managing commercial teams.
  • Familiarity with construction project management software and financial systems.
  • Membership with relevant professional bodies (e.g., RICS, CIOB) is desirable.
  • Ideal candidates will have experience in Diesel/ Power generation industry


This is a permanent position, based in the London Office, with the potential for occasional travel. Must hold valid right to work as sponsorship is unavailable.
