Mode Search is partnered with a globally recognized luxury shopping destination in their search for Head of Retail Operations on a 12-14 month maternity cover contract, based 5 days a week on-site in Oxfordshire.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a high-performing team and ensuring best-in-class operational standards are consistently met across the Village’s diverse retail environment. They will be experienced retail operations leader with at least 5 years in senior management, preferably in premium or luxury retail.

Responsibilities:


  • Develop and execute sales-driven commercial and operational plans.
  • Lead and mentor a team of 3, driving efficiency and operational excellence.
  • Oversee retail budgets, ensuring cost control and savings opportunities.
  • Manage brand communication and deliver operational training.
  • Standardize operational procedures and ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate across departments to implement best practices.
  • Lead KPI reporting and provide actionable performance insights.


Requirements:


  • 5+ years of senior management / operations experience in premium or luxury retail.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Data-driven with excellent analytical abilities.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and detail orientation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to balance short-term tasks with long-term goals.
  • Hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus.
  • Degree or relevant qualifications preferred.
