The role reports directly to the Global Engineering Manager FS AFM and will involve:
- Providing comprehensive technical and engineering expertise for product groups within the fuel injection systems portfolio, supporting the aftermarket, OES, and remanufacturing channels.
- Developing technical documentation including product specifications, bill of materials, global technical requirements, product benchmarking, and design review reports and processes.
- Auditing, testing, validating, and commissioning fuel injection components and related tooling.
- Conducting lab tests on fuel injection system products using metrology equipment.
- Assisting the quality team in investigating quality issues or product concerns.
- Coordinating with product line, purchasing, and supplier quality teams to ensure alignment on new product launches.
- Documenting engineering changes and ensuring commercial and technical systems are updated efficiently.
- Providing technical expertise for project support, including developing documentation for workshop and garage use.
- Managing engineering data in systems such as AS400, SAP, and PIM.
- Creating and managing CAD drawings related to aftermarket fuel injection system products.
- Offering technical guidance to the Global Engineering Manager and the business on all relevant engineering tasks.
Qualifications and Skills
- Degree in Engineering (HNC/HND with relevant industrial experience will be considered).
- Practical mechanical aptitude, particularly with automotive components.
- Proficiency in CAD, preferably SolidWorks (other platforms will be considered).
- Experience in design and validation of fuel injection system products is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of fuel injection systems, including assembly and testing, is preferred.
- A proactive, curious mindset with an understanding of the commercial and strategic aspects of the role.
- Strong commercial acumen and a drive to advance strategic plans, with the ability to analyze data and provide insightful reports and recommendations.
- Ability to build trust with stakeholders and adopt a customer-centric perspective.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the automotive and/or aftermarket sector.
- Experience with fuel systems is highly beneficial.
