Salary: £33,000 - £38,000 + Company Car / Car Allowance + Profit Share

Our client is a leading independent builder, and plumbers’ merchants with a network of branches across the Northeast.


As part of their growth, they are looking for an experienced and motivated Bathroom Category Manager to join their team and lead the growth of their bathroom category.


Job Overview:

The Bathroom Category Manager will be responsible for the strategic planning, development, and management of all bathroom product lines.


This role involves a deep understanding of market trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities within the bathroom space.


The successful candidate will work cross-functionally to enhance the product range, maximise profitability, and ensure the bathroom category’s alignment with the company goals.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Category Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for the bathroom category, focusing on growth, profitability, and market leadership.
  • Market Analysis: Monitor and analyse market trends, competitor offerings, and consumer insights to identify opportunities and gaps within the category.
  • Supplier Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate terms, and ensure a reliable and cost-effective supply chain.
  • Pricing & Promotions: Set pricing strategies and promotional plans to maximise sales and maintain competitive positioning.
  • Inventory Management: Work closely with supply chain and inventory teams to optimise stock levels, reduce costs, and ensure product availability.
  • Sales Analysis & Reporting: Track sales performance, identify trends, and report on key KPIs to inform category performance and strategic decisions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with marketing, sales, and e-commerce teams to support product launches, advertising, and customer engagement initiatives.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in category or product management, ideally within the bathroom or home improvement sector.
  • Proven track record of successful category management and/or product management.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in category management software, Excel, and business intelligence tools.
  • A results-driven mindset with strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Knowledge of bathroom products and industry trends is highly advantageous.
