Senior Java Developer

12 Month Fixed Term Contract - £85,000 - £95,000
A senior development role in the Front Office development team, which provides a key support and services to our Front Office which includes Equities and Fixed Income as well as Middle Office.
The team predominantly builds and maintains a Java micro-service architecture, with some web-applications, desktop applications and reporting also in scope.
The firm is in the middle of a transition programme to cloud, with existing systems and services being migrated onto AWS as part of a larger shift towards a cloud first model. As such it is an exciting time to be joining the firm right now as we build out our cloud footprint to meet current needs and position ourselves for further growth.
Essential
- Substantial experience as an enterprise developer
- Professional core Java development
- Professional AWS migration and Greenfield experience
- Containers, Docker, Terraform
- RESTful services
- Strong experience using databases and writing SQL to investigate and resolve issues
- Good knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals
Useful but not essential
Good knowledge of and/or experience in the following areas are a plus:
- Developer with good technical functional expertise of front office trading and sales (equities would be very beneficial)
- Postgres / Aurora
- Spring, SpringBoot, JPA, Hibernate
- Maven, Jenkins
- Bootstrap, Angular (or similar Javascript frameworks)
