BioTalent is assisting a Biotechnology / Cell & Gene Therapy start-up based in Bedfordshire on their search for a Senior Analytical Scientist - HPLC. As a Senior Scientist you will be responsible for driving R&D, QC, and analytical method development. This is a hands-on technical position requiring expertise in biotechnology analytical assay development, particularly in High Performance Liquid Chromatography.


You will be responsible for:

  • Leading hands-on R&D and QC work to develop validated analytical methods, with a strong focus on High-Performance Liquid Chromatography and affinity measurement systems like Surface Plasmon Resonance and Biolayer Interferometry.
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to manage internal and external projects, balancing analytical priorities and timelines.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, data, and presentations clearly and effectively in meetings.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members on method development and critical analysis.
  • Contribute to product development by supporting QC testing and ensuring accurate documentation such as Work Instructions, SOPs, Validation Protocols.


You will bring the following:

  • A Sciences degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Bioengineering
  • Extensive experience in industry working with relevant analytical tools in R&D or Quality Control
  • Proficiency with HPLC and understanding of working with ISO9001 or ISO13485 standards
