Job Title: Senior UX Researcher

Client Location: Kings Cross (3 days onsite per week)

Starting: January 2024

Salary/Pay Rate: £99k per annum, pro rata (PAYE Only)

Hours: Full-time

Duration: 8-month contract

Aquent is helping our social media client recruit a UX Researcher to join them on an 8-month contract. As a UX researcher, you’ll have the opportunity to partner directly with a single, tightly integrated pod with significant freedom to operate with the time, people and space necessary for conceiving, building and launching brand-new products. Research is paramount to this organisation’s success - formative research is needed to identify the right latent needs or problems in the world to tackle with product solutions, iterative design research is needed to mould early product ideas into testable prototypes, and creative evaluative research is needed to improve and prepare those products for the market.

This is an 8-month contract role aimed to start in January 2024. Our client works on a hybrid model where you will be required to work onsite in their London Kings Cross office 3 days per week. The role comes with a gross PAYE rate of £47.60 per hour, equivalent to £99,008 per annum, pro rata. This includes up to 33 days of holiday per annum, pro rata, inclusive of bank holidays.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive end-to-end research projects, from scoping to analysis
  • Perform usability research, diary studies, and focus group studies on product support and integrity topics
  • Work collaboratively with data science, engineering and the UX Research team to define research goals, methodologies and reporting requirements
  • Manage projects and work closely with recruiters, translators, and other vendors involved, to ensure the quality of the research
  • Execute and moderate interviews and/or focus groups in the participant’s local language
  • Conduct regular debriefings with stakeholders
  • Synthesize and produce reports/key summaries with meaningful recommendations and actionable results

Skills:

  • Ability to partner well with design and engineering teams to design end-to-end research which informs actionable product decisions
  • Work flexibly and efficiently; you will be working on 1-2 projects at the same time and therefore crucial to manage time effectively
  • Ensure quality and rigor in research
  • Clear and active communication with the Research team and cross-functional partners
  • Storytelling skills: ability to uncover what matters and put together a presentation of findings in a compelling and impactful way
  • User empathy: a commitment to promoting the voice of product users from all walks of life and digital experience

Minimum qualifications:

  • Senior-level UX research experience, preferably mixed-methods research
  • BA/BS in a human behavior-related field, such as human-computer interaction, psychology, sociology, communication, information science, media studies, computer science, or economics
  • Experience working in the tech industry
  • Great decision-making skills
