Social Media Manager

Full time
Job offered by: Different Dog

Location: Telford

We are hiring!

Are you a dog person with a deep understanding of social media strategy and a passion for high-quality content creation? If the answer is yes, keep reading!

Different Dog was founded to change dogs’ lives with real food. Having seen behind the curtain of the processed pet food industry, we decided to do things differently. We are a subscription-based business delivering hand-cooked food made with fresh, quality ingredients to your dog; no one else is making dog food like us (in the UK, at least). Our nutrition score on respected comparison site allaboutdogfood.co.uk is 96%, and we’ve had countless 5-star Trustpilot reviews telling us the impact our food has had on the wellbeing of our customers’ dogs. We are a team of passionate dog owners who believe that nutrition matters, and that a diet of only processed food is not the way to health and happiness.

To support our ambitious growth plans over the next few years, we are looking for an experienced social media manager who is passionate about storytelling and has a proven record of creating scroll-stopping content, primarily video, across Instagram, Facebook and TikTok. This role is hybrid as it does require regular travel to our offices in Shrewsbury and Telford, Shropshire, to capture the everyday magic behind the scenes.

Requirements of this role:

  • Create a comprehensive growth strategy across social media channels including Instagram, Facebook and TikTok
  • Ideate, shoot and edit premium video content for both organic and paid media, incorporating a combination of storytelling and scroll-stopping visuals/hooks
  • Work with our Influencer and Partnership teams to help build a strong community of organic ambassadors who truly love the brand
  • Work with our graphic designer to create on-brand social graphics
  • Encourage engagement through creative copywriting, creating an environment where followers feel compelled to join the conversation
  • Liaise with the wider team to drive seasonal content themes
  • Occasional content creation at industry and community events
  • Stay in touch with community management to ensure you understand what is driving conversation with our customers and customers-to-be.
  • Monitor analytics and performance and apply findings to escalate growth and create content with viral potential

Our perfect candidate looks a little like this;

  • Creative to the core
  • Experienced in social strategy and a strong understanding of what takes content from good to incredible.
  • Experience in a high-growth company is preferred
  • Passionate about creating social content, with focus on videography and social edits
  • Confident in directing and filming content in a busy work environment
  • Quickly recognise and stay up to date with trends within the industry
  • Able to think on your feet and problem-solve while filming (even the best-trained dogs can be little scamps on shoots!).
  • Fantastic eye for detail and awareness of the environment when filming.
  • An interest in building relationships – this role requires shooting with our founders, chefs, etc.
  • Able to manage your own schedule and work independently, as well as part of the wider marketing team
  • Happy to potentially star in content themselves
  • A passion for dogs is essential
  • Due to the location of our offices, a driver’s license is very helpful.

Job Type: Full-time, Hybrid

Benefits:

  • Employee discount
  • Good holiday allowance with an additional day off on your birthday
  • Company events
  • Company pension
  • On-site parking
  • Wellness programme
  • Lots of office dogs to cuddle

Different Dog is an equal-opportunity employer. If you are interested in this role, please send your CV along with your portfolio/examples of your work to sarahj@differentdog.com
