Here at GXO, we are seeking a Head of Operations to join our team at our Lutterworth site.You'll oversee operational performance, ensuring all aspects of the operation at Magna Park meet and exceed GXO's expectations. You'll be responsible for delivering this safely, with a strong focus on people, fostering an operational culture aligned with GXO's values, and emphasizing positive behaviours and effective coaching.

The site is currently embarking on an exciting journey as it supports Primark with the roll out to all UK stores for the Click & Collect offering alongside the implementation of a large scale Autonomous Mobile Robotic (AMR) operation, which would suit an individual with energy and passion to support this growth and their own development.

This is a full-time, permanent position, working Monday to Friday, office hours however, flexibility is needed, this is logistics after all!

Pay, benefits and more:

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £60,000 per annum, and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Provide guidance to the Operations team on the targets and plans for the operation

  • Develop and maintain plans and reports forecasting the storage capacity available across the site to support the profit and efficiency of the operation

  • Work directly with the customer to improve the overall service provided by the operation

  • Ensure that all H&S, Legal and/or Statutory requirements are adhered to at all times, including basic housekeeping and hygiene

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • Have demonstrable experience in a fast-moving retail logistics operation

  • Be customer focused, operationally astute and experienced in achieving stretching objectives and operating to high standards

  • Practiced in dealing with trade unions and associated collective agreements

  • Be a self- starter with a high level of enthusiasm and ability to lead fast paced change

  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, coaching and motivational skills
