The Video Player Technology JavaScript team is looking for an exceptional Engineering Manager to grow and develop our international talent base into a first-class team of engineers. Join us as we redefine the future of streaming video technology. While your primary focus will be working on a greenfield MSE player solution, you will be a part of a bigger JavaScript team that is responsible for supporting platforms such as TVs, browsers, consoles, and set-top boxes. Together, we will shape our culture, solve technical problems, and create extraordinary streaming experiences that captivate audiences worldwide.

  • Mentor and coach team members, bringing together a relatively new team to work on an innovative new project.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders across the organization to gather requirements, understand user needs, and provide technical direction.
  • Strive to constantly improve the overall quality through code reviews, tech talks, pair programming and other collaborative practices.
  • Understand business needs and design valuable software solutions that work well within the wider architecture.
  • Proactively estimate efforts and identify any potential risks.
  • Manage team roadmap and capacity.
  • Push technical boundaries while also recommending new processes and technologies.
  • Help foster an environment of inclusiveness.
What you'll bring
  • Must have experience leading an engineering team with prior senior-level development experience in JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Must have experience integrating with JavaScript video players and working with low-level MSE/EME APIs
  • Must have an enthusiasm for building a JavaScript/TypeScript library that handles all aspects of video playback.
  • Experience working through Research and Development projects and taking them forward into a production ready state
  • Value collaboration with teammates and stakeholders.
  • Understanding deadlines, constraints and scope of delivery and experience working with stakeholders to ensure the right balance between these are met, setting expectations and handling risks early.
  • Being an analytic problem solver with a strong sense of autonomy, and with an open collaborative approach to getting the job done.
  • Interest in cultivating a strong team culture where engineers of diverse backgrounds can grow.
