Graduate Software Engineer – Altrincham

What you will be doing:Development of application code utilising the core Software Engineering languages detailed belowLiaise effectively with other team members across the companyInvestigation and resolution of support problemsLiaise with external suppliers for third line support where requiredAnalyse, assess and advise on the impact of change requestsTest functional enhancements or configuration changes prior to releaseProvide implementation and post implementation support as requiredProduce relevant documentation to support Software EngineeringProvide out-of-hours support on a rota basis as requiredWhat we are looking for:Passionate individuals who are excited about software development, are eager to learn and who want to forge a long-standing career with MicroliseFirst or Upper Second-Class Hons Degree in: Computer Science or any Numerate Subject - with programming skills such as C#, C++, or Java with knowledge of basic OO Concepts and SQLExcellent communication skills, with the ability to interpret and relay technical information clearly and conciselyPositive attitude; capable of working under pressure as part of a teamConfident in using your own initiative and proactively thinking outside of the boxAn investigative mind-set that approaches issues from all angles, especially for the purpose of identifying workarounds for on-going incidentsOrganised and with a flexible approach to adapt to changing prioritiesWhy Microlise?When your groceries arrive at your door or you sign for your online parcel, one or more of our software, telematics or proof-of-purchase solutions has probably been used.
