As MWH Treatment’s service to its client, Thames Water, continues to flourish into AMP8, we are looking to strengthen our Engineering team with a Mechanical Engineer. Based in the Thames Water region (Maple Lodge office), you will report directly to the Regional Discipline Lead (Mechanical). Our challenging programme of work, across a variety of water and wastewater schemes is expected to be in the region of £400M. Our engineers pioneer and perfect demonstrable solutions, whilst the variety and interest in our work provides a platform to allow our people to continue to master their subject and build fruitful and purposeful careers.Key responsibilities will include: Report to Senior Engineer, Principal Engineer, Design Managers, Technical Discipline Lead and Regional Discipline Lead. Produce design layouts which are cost effective, meet the requirements of the specification and which can be constructed and commissioned effectively. Production of all design deliverables including Specifications, Schedules, Drawings and Calculations. Working alongside other disciplines for the development of site/plant 3D model. Ensure that standard designs & practices are utilised wherever possible. Delivering the design stage outputs of each project within the agreed timescale and budget. Maintain competitiveness. Provide estimates and feedback for Proposals department. Work to procedures and processes to ensure the continuing development of the department. Monitor and review the procedures and processes. Write, update and monitor efficient procedures to aid the smooth running of the department. Ensure co-ordination of designs with all other disciplines internal and external to MWHT in order to ensure that the design processes carried out on the contract are co-ordinated for the benefit of the contract as a whole. Maintain files and records throughout the duration of contracts. Assure customer satisfaction. To work within a culture where satisfying the customer is recognised as the key to achieving other objectives, and that customers include everyone receiving benefit from our processes, whether end users or other departments within the company. Maintain a personal development plan. Ensure designs take account of environmental issues. Ensure that design takes full regard of all CDM 2015 Regulations and health and safety requirements.
