Kennedys is looking to recruit a client development advisor to join our global Business Development team. This role would support the firm's UK insurance practice which covers a wide range of product lines including: aviation, marine, cyber risks, energy, political risk and financial and professional lines.The purpose of this role is to develop and implement strategic business plans and initiatives to increase the quality and effectiveness of BD & marketing campaigns for this vital business area of the firm. This is a full mix business development role where you will have the autonomy to achieve the business development objectives that support the firm's international ambition and strategically important practice areas.The role will focus on the profitable development and growth of clients driven by industry and practice lines in the UK, and internationally where applicable.This will involve business planning, research & analysis, advising and coaching partners, leading steering groups in their meetings, account management of clients and some client feedback.You will be required to operate strategically, suggesting new and innovative ideas but with a hands-on approach as well to ensure that all initiatives are implemented resourcefully and correctly.This role will report into a Senior Client Development Manager. You will also work closely with the Client Development Executive who supports the UK insurance practice.TeamKennedys Business Development team promotes Kennedys services and supports the firm's global growth ambition and our key clients and markets.The UK Business Development team consists of the following sub-teams, Pursuits, Clients and Markets, Client Development Systems and Marketing which encompasses, Digital, Brand and Events.We also have a Business Development presence in nine global offices. Key responsibilities Work with key product lines within the UK insurance practice to influence and advise them on their BD activities and client development opportunities.Many of the product lines in the insurance practice are global in nature. Therefore you will also be required to work closely with global BD colleagues and some global partners to ensure BD activity is streamlined and joined-up.Account manage various significant client relationships and help to shape and implement a tailored CRM programme, in line with the firm's key account management approach. You may occasionally be required to liaise directly with clients and attend client meetings.Work with the Marketing Communications team to ensure BD and marketing plans and initiatives are delivered in a planned, professional and proactive way.Proactively track and target revenue and client relationships through analysing financial, matter and relationship data.Work with key product lines on developing targeted client development programmes for new and existing business opportunities which contribute to the firm's profitable growth in key markets. Occasionally work on capability documents for new business opportunities.Attend practice/industry group meetings to give account of business development activity across the firm and to devise new initiatives.
