Due to growth of the Finance team, we are looking for a Group Finance Assistant Accountant for a 12 month FTC to join the team! · Job Title – Group Finance Assistant Accountant (12m FTC)· Location – BL9 8RR· Working rota – Mon-Fri· Working hours – Full timeWhat You'll Be Doing:As a Group Finance Assistant Accountant, you'll be doing the following: Assisting with the loading of data and review of monthly information provided to the Group team (prepared in consolidation systems - Cognos Controller and TM1).Data extraction and analysis to assist with the preparation of the Annual Report and Accounts for the Plc under IFRS (year end & interims).Responsible for the preparation of subsidiary dormant accounts using accounts preparation software.The extraction of data from the consolidation system for upload into our accounts preparation software to assist with preparation of trading entity statutory accounts under different accounting standards (FRS 101 and FRS 102). Review and analysis of the notes to the accounts to identify errors or omissions.Preparation of financial information for external announcements / presentations.Coordination and preparation of supporting files for audit.Assisting with the monthly maintenance of IFRS 16 data input and calculations. Analysing data at key reporting period ends to assist with the calculation of the impact of IFRS 16 on the Group’s results.Management of timelines and submissions from subsidiaries in line with Group Finance deadlines and agreed timelines with stakeholders.What We're Looking For:Bachelor's (or Master's) degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field preferableStrong understanding of accounting and financial reporting - relevant degree or part qualifiedHigh level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel as well as working knowledge and skills across Microsoft Office including familiarity with building PowerPoint presentationsConfidence speaking to new people and ability to contact through email, telephone or in person meetings. Good interpersonal communication skills in order to build and maintain relationships within Head Office and local subsidiary teams.The ability to manage multiple workstreams concurrently (with guidance from senior team members).Self-motivated, ambitious individual with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.Proactive and organised, with a willingness to learn and work with initiative.
