Step Teachers are working with a previously OFSTED rated 'Good' school in Hackney that is looking for a Design Technology Teacher ASAP. The Design Technology Teacher role is full-time with a high chance of becoming permanent. The school is an inclusive environment where pupils are polite and friendly. You will need to have previous experience of teaching Design Technology at secondary school in the UK and have QTS status. 

Design Technology Teacher - Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver dynamic lessons that integrate resistance and graphic materials into the design process.
  • Provide hands-on instruction in our fully equipped workshops.
  • Mentor and support students as they explore design concepts and develop their projects.
  • Collaborate with fellow Design and Technology teachers to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements, infusing your expertise into the curriculum.

Design Technology Teacher - Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Strong experience in a mainstream school teaching KS3 and 4
  • Bachelor’s degree in design, Engineering, Education, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated years of experience teaching Design and Technology, with a focus on resistance and graphic materials.
  • As a Design and Technology Teacher, you should have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Dedication to fostering creativity and innovation in students.
