As a Mechanical Field Service Technician, you will leverage your military experience to excel in a dynamic civilian role. You'll be responsible for attending commercial sites, conducting Mechanical inspections, performing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks, and executing remedial works as required. Additionally, you'll complete all necessary reports and certificates related to your tasks. Job Responsibilities: Utilise your military background to effectively liaise with the Team Manager and customers, providing exceptional service, technical support, and identifying new opportunities. Leverage your disciplined approach to maintain an updated schedule of work, holidays, and sickness time on a weekly basis, communicating effectively with the Team Manager. Apply your attention to detail to ensure timely completion and submission of all relevant paperwork, maintaining high standards of professionalism. Translate your leadership skills to provide valuable feedback to the Team Manager and Sales team, contributing to the growth and success of the business. Draw upon your experience to participate in audits and site inspections, upholding and improving standards at all times. Apply your military training to manage health and safety issues related to yourself and any subcontractors involved in the work, prioritising the well-being of all personnel. Utilise your technical expertise to conduct routine maintenance on industrial boiler fuelling equipment and associated control systems, addressing any system issues promptly. Maintain strict confidentiality when handling client information, demonstrating integrity and professionalism at all times. Experience: Transition seamlessly into civilian life with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a mechanical engineering environment, leveraging your military background to excel in a new role. Preferably, bring experience in hazardous areas, fuel installations, and tank inspections maintenance, enhancing your suitability for this position. Skills: Apply your military-trained IT skills to proficiently complete online certifications and work sheets, demonstrating your ability to adapt to new technologies. Showcase your organisational prowess, honed through your military service, to effectively manage tasks and responsibilities. Leverage your exceptional customer-facing and communication skills to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues alike. Apply your strategic mindset to recognise and capitalise on business opportunities, contributing to the continued growth and success of the company. Desired qualifications include N.V.Q Level 3 Engineering Maintenance Installation, Mechanical Engineering Modern Apprenticeship, C&G Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, and Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Mechanical Engineering. Optional certifications include CompEx 11 Mechanical in Hazardous Areas, commercial electrical installation and testing qualifications (NVQ Level 3 or industry equivalent), OFTEC 600A Tank installation and Maintenance, Confined Space training, Working at Height training. A clean driving licence is essential to fulfil the requirements of this role. SC, DV, DBS clearance, and a clean criminal record are required due to the nature of the client and customers' areas of work.
