Job Description As Science & Infrastructure Facilitation Officer you will have the following responsibilities; Supporting coordination, planning, development and implementation of the CMIP data infrastructure. Providing facilitation support and management of relevant CMIP and WIP task teams and joint activities with the Earth System Grid Federation (ESGF). Providing communication support to CMIP data infrastructure activities and engaging with relevant communities. Promoting equity and inclusivity in CMIP data access. Organising and facilitating infrastructure relevant meetings, workshops, conferences, training sessions and other activities relevant to CMIP. Reaching out to relevant wider communities such as PANGEO, Copernicus, and other emerging communities. Qualifications You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience: Master’s degree in climate related sciences, or other appropriate scientific field. At least three years of relevant work experience. Significant expertise in project/programme management of large scientific and/or data infrastructure projects. Demonstrated experience of research/science facilitation. Experience of coding languages including Python, C or Fortran. Expertise in working in an international environment with globally distributed teams. Excellent organisational, interpersonal, communication and mediation skills. Proficiency in English. The following would also be desirable: PhD in climate science, particularly climate modelling. Qualification in project or programme management. Qualification/experience in data science and/or data infrastructure management. Experience working with climate models and climate data, including familiarity with CMIP. Experience in science communication and outreach. Additional Information This job is located in Harwell, UK.
