Consultant Psychiatrist Permanent - Full Time Join a dynamic team in a 24-bedded rehabilitation hospital for women over 18, situated in the heart of the community in Birmingham. Patients have a primary diagnosis of mental illness or personality disorder with complex needs and may be admitted informally or detained under the Mental Health Act . Role Overview We are seeking a full-time Consultant Psychiatrist to lead a 24-bed Community-Facing Rehabilitation and Recovery Service. In this role, you will: Act as the Responsible Clinician for patients. Supervise referrals and admissions , including conducting pre-admission assessments. Collaborate with a cohesive, multidisciplinary team including: Specialty Doctor. Principal Psychologist. Senior Occupational Therapist and team. Ward Manager. Registered Nurses and Recovery Support Workers. The service works closely with NHS partners to facilitate smooth transitions back into the community with robust follow-up support. Requirements GMC Registration with inclusion on the Specialist Register for Psychiatry . Experience in inpatient settings with various mental health challenges. Familiarity with working with patients who have a forensic history is advantageous. Proven experience at Consultant level , including the ability to conduct training.
