Job Title: Rainscreen Designer

Key Responsibilities

Design and Detailing

  • Develop and draft detailed rainscreen designs, including materials, profiles, fixings, and connections.
  • Prepare 2D and 3D models to illustrate the rainscreen layout and its integration with other building elements.
  • Ensure that all designs account for water, air, and thermal control to meet project and performance requirements.

Project Coordination

  • Collaborate with project architects and engineers to integrate rainscreen designs with structural, mechanical, and other building systems.
  • Work with manufacturers and suppliers to specify rainscreen materials and finishes, ensuring consistency with the project’s aesthetic goals and durability standards.
  • Coordinate with contractors during the construction phase, providing support and clarifications on rainscreen system installation.

Technical Documentation

  • Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports.
  • Conduct detailed analyses of rainscreen system performance, considering factors such as thermal resistance, air and moisture barriers, and resistance to wind and seismic loads.


Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Structural Engineering, or a related field. Advanced knowledge or certification in building envelope design or facade engineering is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in building envelope or facade design, with a specific focus on rainscreen systems.


Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.)
  • Familiarity with facade design, rainscreen cladding is essential
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, standards, and rainscreen design best practices.
