Job summary The post leads on a defined national and regional portfolio of work to support AHP workforce supply and transformation (support workforce, pre-registration students and registered practitioners). Working closely with national and regional NHSE WT&E teams and stakeholders, this will involve understanding and using policy, strategy, evidence, data, and intelligence to design, deliver and evaluate programmes of work for the AHP workforce. This post forms part of the WT&E regional and national AHP Leadership Team, providing multi-professional specialist support and advice to stakeholders, and will: Support and enable workforce supply and transformation (and associated workforce planning) in meeting the aims of the NHS Long Term Workforce Plan, NHS People Plan and AHP Workforce Improvement Framework. Provide programme leadership, governance, and support for agreed WT&E priority areas. Demonstrating impact, outcomes and return on investment for all areas of our work. Working in partnership with multi-professional programmes and structures across the organisation. Provide collaborative professional leadership regional and nationally. This will involve extensive engagement and liaison with clinical and professional leaders, ALB professional leads, employers, education providers, professional bodies, ICBs and others on WT&E developments for AHP and wider workforce. Main duties of the job Proactively engage with AHP Faculties, Councils and professional leads and others working in local health & social care systems To work with existing or support the development of professional networks within localities. Manage differing opinions relating to project proposals arising from these networks. Communicate, provide and present highly complex information to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders Provide strategic leadership and represent the interests of their professions at national, regional and local level. To provide the professional voice and clinical advice and support to WT&E in the region and nationally in the delivery of all its core functions. To support the development of innovative approaches to multi- professional working Responsible for programme delivery for an assigned portfolio of local and shared regional programmes of work. As directed by the Regional Head develop long-term, strategic delivery plans Responsible for setting and managing the performance of allocated education transformation programmes against short, medium and long-term key performance indicators. Person Specification Qualifications and Training Essential Professional Registration with the HCPC Masters Level in field of AHP practice or equivalent level of experience Recognised to have extensive knowledge of specialist area acquired through postgraduate education or equivalent Project/Programme Management experience Desirable Project Management Qualification (Prince 2/APM) Professional Body registration Experience and Knowledge Essential Extensive knowledge of workforce development in healthcare to include workforce development approaches education development and commissioning Experience of managing and delivering several complex initiatives simultaneously in rapidly evolving, political and high-pressure environments including effective management of risk Demonstrated ability to present effectively to a wide range of audiences including senior stakeholder groups Desirable Analysis, interpretation and production of complex and multiple reports including financial returns Behaviours and Values Essential Supports the delivery of excellent healthcare and health improvement by holding the interests of patients and public at the heart of what they do.
