Job Title: Engineering Manager – Systems Engineering (IVV)

Salary: Up to £61,967 depending on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

\n
    \n
  • Provide specialist knowledge and subject matter expertise in the integration, validation and verification of systems
  • \n
  • Planning, preparation and undertaking integration of the system of interest from its elements. Ensuring that as each new element is added the interfaces work as expected and that accumulated functionality is delivered. Identification and resolution of issues
  • \n
  • Ensure compliance against contractual requirements and that work is undertaken in accordance with company, safety, environmental, contractual and local business processes, standards, procedures and documentation
  • \n
  • Support the development of estimates for the scope of work and resources required to deliver it in order to support bids, proposal development and project planning activities from a process and governance perspective
  • \n

Your skills and experiences:

\n

Essential:

\n
    \n
  • BSc degree in Engineering or equivalent STEM-related subject
  • \n
  • Significant knowledge and expertise in Systems Engineering – IVV process and practices in complex software-intensive systems in the defence, maritime, or closely linked industry and the correct recognition of the context of their work within the overall business
  • \n
  • A strong working understanding of Product Safety and SHE
  • \n
  • Demonstrated expertise in stakeholder management
  • \n
\n

Desirable:

\n
    \n
  • MSc in an Engineering or STEM-related subject
  • \n
  • Submarines domain knowledge
  • \n
  • Chartered Engineer
  • \n
\n

The Platform Complex Systems team:

\n

The PCS Team is responsible for delivering sophisticated distributed control and communication systems for the SSNA program. This critical role focuses on shaping and driving the V&V strategy, directly contributing to the project’s objective of enhancing the performance of the boat programme. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
