Flexible working - We are currently operating a discretionary hybrid working model which is designed to help you plan your work and your life. We want our people to come into the office at least two days a week. We are looking for an Android Developer to join our engineering team in Financial Services. In this role as an Android Developer, you’ll take charge of designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance Android apps using Kotlin. Your expertise in the latest Android tech and cross-platform frameworks will be key to delivering smooth, efficient mobile experiences. You will have the opportunity to: Design and build advanced applications for the Android platform using Kotlin. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features. Utilise the latest Android technologies, including Jetpack components, to enhance application performance and user experience. Develop cross-platform applications using frameworks such as Flutter or React Native. Work with external data sources and APIs. Conduct unit testing to ensure code robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability. Identify and fix bugs, and improve application performance. Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximise development efficiency. Qualifications

Proven experience in Android app development with a strong focus on Kotlin. Familiarity with the latest Android technologies and frameworks, such as Jetpack, Compose, and Coroutines. Experience in cross-platform mobile development using frameworks like Flutter or React Native. Strong understanding of the full mobile development lifecycle. Proficiency in integrating with RESTful APIs and third-party libraries. Solid understanding of mobile UI/UX design principles. Experience with version control systems, particularly Git. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cloud messaging APIs and push notifications. Experience with working in highly regulated environments (Preferably financial services or healthcare). Knowledge of performance tuning and optimisation techniques. Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
