We are looking for an ambitious and talented lawyer to join our highly regarded top tier Corporate team with opportunities across a variety of sectors and work types, including Mergers & Acquisitions, Capital Markets & Governance and Private Equity / Venture Capital. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-respected and vibrant team with the prospect of a varied and interesting workload. You will have the opportunity to work on both national and international deals whilst all the time pursuing sector interests and within a supportive and collegiate environment. You will also be able to contribute to client relationship development and broaden your business development and networking skills, as well as involve yourself in the firm's many D&I initiatives.

The practice

The Bristol team provide the full spectrum of corporate services including mergers & acquisitions, private equity, venture capital, joint ventures, equity capital markets, governance and corporate reorganisation and simplification. We focus on acting for clients at the forefront of transformational change in the key sectors of tech, media & comms, energy & energy transition, financial services, mobility & infrastructure and the built environment, with a number of the partners in the team being leaders in those sectors and attracting high profile and innovative projects.

With clients such as large quoted companies, privately owned businesses, banks, financial institutions and institutional investors, in the last year the Bristol team have acted on over 60 deals with an aggregate value of over £2 billion.

The team

The Corporate Bristol team comprises of 10 Partners, 3 Associate Directors, 7 Senior Associates, 6 Associates, 2 Trainee Solicitors, and 1 Solicitor Apprentice. The team is part of, and works closely, with Corporate colleagues in Osborne Clarke LLP's Thames Valley and London offices, meaning that the department is made up of 110 fee earners overall. It also works closely with specialist teams at the firm who support our transactions and our network of international offices.

Advised Lloyds Development Capital on its investment into Plimsoll Productions, one of the largest independent television production companies in the UK

Advised Vaisala Oyj on its proposed acquisition of Speedwell Climate, a company specialising in data and software for climate risk transfer contracts.

Advised Synova on its investment in Mecsia, a national provider of compliance-led, technical inspection and maintenance services.

Advising Biffa Plc on its acquisition of Company Shop Limited (CSG)

Advising HSBC on its investment in FINBOURNE Technology

Acted for Hargreaves Lansdown on its sale of Funds Library

Advised the shareholders of Vistair Limited on its merger with Comply365, LLC

Advised multinational defence technology company QinetiQ on the sale of a commercial space business

Advised Super Payments on one of the largest ever pre-seed funding rounds in Europe

Advised Foresight Environmental Infrastructure on its sale of 51% of a portfolio of six gas-to-grid anaerobic digestion facilities

Advised Genr8 Kajima on its corporate joint venture with Newcastle University

Advised Invesco Software Limited on its £120m investment from Five Arrows Principal Investments

Advised specialist alternative asset manager Gresham House on its acquisition of two fully-permitted solar and battery energy storage projects in the UK

Advised Creo Medical Group on a series of successful fundraisings

Advised German real estate investor, HIH Invest Real Estate, on its offshore corporate acquisition of prime office building in central London

Advised the ACORN consortium on a joint venture with the Development Bank of Wales for the development of the new Velindre Cancer Centre in Cardiff, Wales

Technical skills and experience

You will have gained a wide range of experience within Corporate matters of a similar size and will have a high degree of self-motivation and willingness to learn, the ability to work effectively in a team and a passion for delivering excellent service to clients.

Due to the nature of the work and the structure of the team, we are looking for a Senior Associate, although we will consider candidates with more or less experience.
