Strategy Manager
to join the BBC Strategy Team. This role will be focused on BBC Revenue management and therefore embedded within the BBC Licence Fee Unit, supporting a range of new and ongoing projects within the department. This is an 18 Month FTC which is London-based with some flexibility - i.e., hybrid working. Main Responsibilities
As
Strategy Manager , you’ll play a key role in supporting the direction of the Licence Fee Unit’s operations, strategy and policies, contributing to a range of projects and analysis tasks. You will: Act as an SME for BBC Revenue Management performance measurement via analysis, interpretation and reporting of key performance metrics and trends, with a view to improving business operations and revenue collections. Work closely with BBC finance to support accurate budgeting and forecasting of BBC income. Influence business decision making by delivering high quality business analysis of financial and non-financial data, identifying risks, opportunities and recommendations for protecting and growing BBC revenue collections. Measure and monitor changes and developments in the industry landscape to estimate the impacts of any operational, policy, and technological changes that may affect BBC public funding. Work with Data science teams to develop the BBCs understanding of drivers of payment and non-payment, including operational, macro-economic and behavioural factors, as well as working independently to refine the BBC’s measurement of non-payment. Maintain up to date knowledge and understanding of the key strategic challenges and opportunities regarding the BBCs current funding model. Lead analytical project work feeding into operational delivery and change initiatives. Own and deliver monthly, quarterly and annual performance reporting for senior management, as well as external bodies such as the DCMS and NAO. Leverage insight from BBC Audiences market research to deepen the BBC Revenue Management teams understanding of audience attitudes and behaviours that may impact income collection. This will include working with our outsourced service partners to analyse collection performance and customer behaviours, as well as working collaboratively with the BBC’s Strategy, Marketing & Audiences, and Finance teams. Using appropriate tools and techniques, you’ll provide and build high quality analysis and modelling as well as present well thought-out recommendations to individuals and teams at a range of levels. To be successful in this role you will possess financial and analytical modelling skills, with the ability to collate and interpret complex data in Excel, and to translate and simplify this analysis in PowerPoint – ultimately driving and influencing decision making. You will have strong organisational skills and experience of supporting projects with data and analysis, you’ll be adept at meeting demanding deadlines, setting targets and adapting to changing circumstances across a range of concurrent activities. An excellent problem solver, able to offer the right balance of creativity and pragmatism, you will have the confidence and resilience to challenge assumptions and instigate positive change to achieve business goals. An effective communicator with a proven ability to establish good working relationships with multiple partners and stakeholders across a wide range of people and levels, comfortable presenting insights, challenging and influencing as appropriate to support effective decision making. In addition, you will have excellent written communication skills for a range of audiences. This will be supported by your strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. Band: D Contract type: Eighteen month fixed-term contract (this is a staff role not a contractor engagement) Location: Office base is London. This is a hybrid role and the successful candidate will balance office working with home working Salary: £50,000 to £55,000pa plus London Weighting (£5,319pa), depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience.
