Technical Project Manager

to help this Tier 1 supplier on key Telecom deliverables for a major utility's company. As project manager, you will be pivotal in maintaining key relationships, ensuring full lifecycle project management, and working with other Tier 1 suppliers.

In the role of project manager, you will be receiving work packages which will need delivering on time and on budget. Managing communication upgrades and configuration is essential. Understanding of the communications and telecoms sector is important.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and deliver engineering and SCADA system solutions. Serve as the primary liaison for customers throughout the project lifecycle. Communicate with field operatives in installation and delivery. Ensure projects are completed within agreed timelines, budgets, and quality expectations. Apply project management methodologies to maintain control and efficiency. Experience of waterfall, PRINCE2, or similar is a must. Escalate any issues quickly; this company prefers to have bad news out early so they can deal with issues promptly. A proactive Project Manager familiar with working in a small team is needed. Collaborate with other Tier 1 suppliers on the project. Define measurable milestones and deliverables using key project management software (Jira, MS Project).

Experience and Qualifications

Proven experience in managing telecoms projects, ideally in the water/utilities sector. Qualifications: PRINCE2, APM, or PMP certification or similar; degree in Engineering or a related field preferred. Knowledge of telecom technologies (e.g., SCADA, telemetry) highly advantageous. Budget management experience (£1M+), with a track record of delivering on time. Proficiency in project tools (MS Project, Primavera, or similar). Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Knowledge of ITIL processes and service delivery frameworks is desirable.
