Our client, a leading provider of data centre solutions, is seeking a highly experienced Data Centre Operations Director for an initial 6-month contract. As the Data Centre Operations Director, you will play a pivotal role in managing overall operations and leading data centre migration and modernization projects. Your strategic, managerial, operational, and technical expertise will be crucial in ensuring the seamless and efficient functioning of the data centres. Contract Details: Duration:6 months. Location: Remote -EMEA-wide, with some travel required. Commencement Date - ASAP Daily Rate: The budget is open. Determination: Outside IR35 Key Responsibilities: Strategic Responsibilities: Operational Strategy Development: Formulate and implement strategies to ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation of data centres. Capacity Planning: Plan and manage data centre capacity to meet current and future business needs, ensuring scalability and flexibility. Budget Management: Develop and manage the budget for data centre operations, ensuring cost efficiency while maintaining high service levels. Managerial Responsibilities: Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of data centre professionals, including facility managers, IT staff, and support personnel. Performance Management: Set performance goals, conduct evaluations, and provide ongoing training and development for the team. Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure they meet contractual obligations and deliver high-quality services. Operational Responsibilities: Facility Management: Ensure that the physical infrastructure of data centres (cooling, power, and security systems) is maintained to prevent disruptions. IT Infrastructure Management: Oversee the installation, maintenance, and upgrading of IT hardware and software within the data centre. Monitoring and Reporting: Implement monitoring systems to track performance metrics and generate regular reports on data centre operations. Technical Responsibilities: Disaster Recovery Planning: Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans to minimize downtime in case of an incident. Security Management: Ensure the physical and cyber security of the data centre, protecting against breaches and other threats. Compliance and Standards: Ensure that data centre operations comply with industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR). Other Key Responsibilities: Problem Resolution: Oversee the resolution of operational issues and emergencies, ensuring minimal impact on services. Innovation and Improvement: Continuously seek and implement improvements in data centre processes, technologies, and workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including senior management, to provide updates on data centre performance and strategic initiatives.
