Summary Our Accountancy/Taxation Professional Apprenticeship is the equivalent of a Level 7 qualification. Upon gaining this qualification, you will be overseeing a team of accountants, acting as a mentor in a professional capacity whilst assisting with strategic decision-making within the business.

Annual wage: £28,000 a year Minimum wage rates (opens in new tab)

Training course: Accountancy or taxation professional (level 7)

Hours: Monday - Friday, 9.00am - 5.00pm. 37 hours a week

Possible start date: Monday 13 January

Duration: 2 years 6 months

Work As an apprentice, you'll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You'll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you'll do at work We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced accountant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks, including preparing accounts for different entities, filing tax returns, and supporting the development of junior team members.

Key Responsibilities: Prepare accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies Complete Self-assessment and Corporation Tax returns accurately and promptly Prepare VAT returns for clients Provide training and support to team members to enhance their professional growth

Training An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Course contents:

Build trusted and sustainable relationships with individuals and organisations. Influence the impact of business decisions on relevant and affected communities. Communicate in a clear and appropriate manner. Identify ethical dilemmas and understand the implications. Take ownership of allocated projects and manage time effectively. Evaluate information quickly and draw accurate conclusions.

This is a Level 7 Degree Apprenticeship (Accountancy/ Taxation Professional - ACCA Route) with a total duration of 30 months. The knowledge units will be delivered at the EMA training hub in Derby or Nottingham (depending on apprentices' location) through day release. Apprentices without English or mathematics at Level 2 must achieve this prior to the completion of the End Point Assessment.
