Principal Engineer Job Overview Provide technical support to the sectors of the business. Support tendering by developing construction methodology. Lead the projects through the preconstruction design phase, producing designs, and provide technical support through the construction phase supporting the site teams. Lead and manage design teams in delivering high-quality engineering solutions for major projects. Liaise with external consultants. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior design engineers. Ensure all designs meet safety, environmental, and quality requirements. Oversee the integration of design changes, addressing any technical challenges that arise during project development. Participate in client meetings and support business development through technical input.
Principal Engineer Job Requirements BEng or MEng level in Civil and/or Structural Engineering. Chartership status CEng with the ICE or IStructE. 8+ years' experience with expertise in underground structures and large Infrastructure projects. Experience in a design consultancy environment. Technical skill with accomplished structural design skills and geotechnical knowledge. Ability to help support, mentor, and develop junior engineers within the team. Sound knowledge of CDM H&S regulations. Excellent written English language and grammar.
