Day to Day: Insight Global is seeking multiple Sr. Python Software Engineers to join their Data Engineering team in London. These engineers will be supporting Global Energy Commodities Trading teams. He or she will work with Quant Developers to take complex data modes and turn them into software solutions for the traders. There are both heavy data and engineering components to this role so the role will have dual responsibilities between software and data engineering. Must Haves: Minimum 8+ years of enterprise Software Development experience Expert with Python Development with up-to-date skills, including Web Development, Cloud (ideally Azure), Docker, and Testing Financial and/or trading domain experience required Strong understanding of maths, finance and trading processes including but not limited to: familiarity with E.g. PnL, greeks, volatility, partial derivative, normal distribution etc. Ability to defend software engineering decisions to Quant Developers, Analysts and Traders Expertise with DevOps including Terraform and Github actions Experience with Data engineering tools including PySpark, Lakehouses, Kafka, etc. Pluses: Experience particularly with energy commodities trading domain Ability to understand high level maths
