The aim of this job is to provide best care to volunteers and patients participating in clinical research studies in the Imperial Clinical Research Facility (ICRF) with a focus on oncology and haematology trials. You are expected to carry out procedures and investigations on research participantsaccording to study protocol, Trust and local policies. Procedures include administration of Trial drugs, monitoring participants' progress, continuous assessment of participants' health, and collecting and processing blood and other biological samples. You will also be expected to lead on some studies. This may involve setting up studies with the required documents and approvals, monitor and support recruitment, organise participants' visits and schedules, and record, report and follow up progress and plans in collaboration with project managers and other staff.. You are expected to supervise nursing staff and allied healthcare professionals assigned to and working on studies you lead on. The post holder is expected to remain up to date with Trust and local policies and help support the unit's quality accounts by continuous auditing and developing standards. Education/Qualifications
Registered Nurse BSc or working towards a BSc in nursing Recognised Chemotherapy Course Good Clinical Practice Relevant specialist course or equivalent experience in oncology or haematology nursing Experience
Competency in medication administration including IV drugs Organisation and management skills. Ability to lead a team/ project Experience of working within an oncology or haematology ward environment as a qualified nurse Cannulation and phlebotomy Evidence of teaching Research experience Experience of using Aria Disclosure and Barring Service Check
