Food Safety Officer/Environmental Health Officer

An opportunity has arisen to be part of our highly regarded Commercial Safety Team. The role will include delivery of inspection, enforcement, education, and advice. The team, which is based in the Public Protection and Enforcement Service, has an excellent reputation, delivering the Food, Health and Safety functions successfully for Harrow Council. The successful candidate will be organised, efficient, and forward-thinking, with excellent written and presentation skills. We are seeking a qualified and motivated individual with a high attention to detail, who thrives on communicating effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and is dedicated to the delivery of high-quality services. The successful candidate will have:

Excellent knowledge of the range of legislation enforced by the Commercial Safety Team, as well as a basic knowledge of the range of legislation enforced by the wider Public Protection Team. Full current driving licence. Degree in Environmental Health or Higher Certificate in Food Control or NEBOSH. Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a demanding and pressurised environment, independently and as a team. High standard of written and verbal presentation and communication skills. Competent in the use of standard computer systems. Aptitude for the technical and legal aspects of the discipline. Inclusive team worker who can foster partnerships and collaborate across teams to achieve desired outcomes.
