The DPE team is hiring for Python Software Engineer. The Python Software Engineer at Cboe will help build and expand the batch functionality of the largest equities exchange in Europe. We are firm believers in the value of testable, maintainable code and software craftsmanship; that approach has helped us become the largest equities exchange in Europe and we need another talented individual to help us continue to innovate and lead the market. In this role you’ll be responsible for : Design and build highly reliable, highly testable Python batch systems to support Cboe Europe’s trading operations. Provide operational support for Cboe Europe’s trading systems. Work closely with our business development and sales teams to develop innovative new products and features for our exchanges. Participate in various R&D projects to identify and implement promising new technologies. Participate in a global software development team. The ideal candidate has : Solid Python knowledge. A commitment to writing testable, maintainable code. Familiarity with more advanced SQL techniques. Strong Linux knowledge. Basic, but broad, knowledge of algorithms and data structures. You’ll really stand out with : Highly preferred: Experience with TDD, BDD or other testing methodologies. Preferred: Familiarity with PostgreSQL, Jenkins, Django, or Pandas. Preferred: Familiarity with Microservices Architecture. Preferred: Familiarity with the development of REST API services. Preferred: Familiarity with event-driven architecture, message queues, or event-streaming. Preferred: Familiarity with Cloud Technologies. Preferred: Familiarity with C or C++. Preferred: Experience in one or more relevant financial areas (market data, order management, algorithmic trading, financial systems integration, compliance, etc.).
