Clinical Lead Post in Inherited Cardiovascular Disease

We are looking for Clinical Lead Consultant Cardiologist specialising in inherited cardiac conditions. The post will be appointed to the Barts Heart Centre, based at St Bartholomew's Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust. The merger of three cardiac services into the new cardiovascular centre creates a new world-class institution that will provide state of the art cardiovascular care to a population of six million people. Under the leadership of the local academic health science network, UCL Partners, we are striving for excellence in academic and clinical domains, including the appointment of new clinical academics to ensure future excellence. The Inherited Cardiovascular Disease service at Bart's Health is the largest of its kind in Europe. The multidisciplinary team includes consultants with training in inherited cardiovascular disease and other sub-specialty interests. Main duties of the job

Improving Governance (including quality, safety and patient experience) To help produce an annual audit plan for the service. To help ensure that all national audits relevant to the service are discussed within six months of report publication and a documented action plan with identified accountable individuals, clear objectives and outcome metrics is put in place. To ensure that within each clinical area, effective systems and processes are established to enable the delivery of the clinical governance agenda and quality assurance protocols. To attend a regular multi-professional Quality and Safety meeting to review complaints, serious incidents, risks, and good practice in order to ensure that a documented plan of action in response to each is in place. The plan should include delegated individual responsibility, clear outcome metrics and timelines. Qualifications

MB BS, or equivalent MRCP or equivalent Higher degree, e.g. MD/PhD or evidence of working towards it CCST (or within 6 months of date of interview) Entry on the General Medical Council (GMC) Management Qualification Experience
