The software engineering team at BAO Systems develops the BAO Analytics Platform, a platform for data integration, transformation, and advanced data analytics and visualization, used to improve health outcomes at a global scale. Our software engineers work on difficult problems, interact directly with users, and take part in designing solutions which meet customer needs. Responsibilities Develop elegant, testable, high-performance features for the BAO Analytics Platform. Develop microservices and extensions to existing platforms, like the DHIS 2 health management information system. Collaborate with product managers, project managers, software engineers and end users. Participate in all aspects of system development: Requirements management, design and implementation of features, testing and retrieving feedback from users. Contribute positively to the team culture with a proactive and helpful attitude. Required qualifications Experience with the Java programming language, alternatively other general purpose languages such as Python, Go or C#. Experience with Java frameworks like Spring and JPA/Hibernate. Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL or other relational databases. Experience designing and developing web APIs. Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English. Preferred qualifications Experience with data and system integration patterns. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field. Experience in a mid-level or senior position in a related field. Benefits Work from home, with periodic office visits.
