The role of Diabetes Specialist Dietitian will be responsible for the dietetic management of adult diabetes patients under the care of the specialist diabetes team.

Our department service includes the provision of Insulin Pump therapy and Diabetes technologies, antenatal diabetes services, Type 1 structured education including carbohydrate counting principles, and multi-disciplinary clinics including renal patients.

We are looking for a Dietitian with strong communication, team working, and enthusiasm for patient group education with a passion for diabetes.

The role includes a mix of providing one-to-one clinics and Type 1 diabetes group education, delivered virtually and face-to-face.

The post holder will work closely with Diabetes Dietitians within the department and support clinical development within the department.

Communicate effectively with medical, nursing, and other professional staff in both acute and community services.

Be responsible for ensuring that patients and carers have consented prior to dietetic intervention in line with professional guidelines.

Ability to utilise developed communication and teaching skills to educate the diverse and multicultural diabetes population with barriers to understanding the essential, highly complex carbohydrate counting principles both on a one-to-one basis and in groups.
