The post will comprise working as part of the Skin Therapy Research Unit. The main focus of the research is atopic eczema and psoriasis. You will work as part of and be supported by a large and well established multi-disciplinary research team with a strong track record of producing high impact, translational research.
The post will be based at Guy's Hospital. However, it is a requirement of your employment that you be prepared to work at additional locations according to the needs of the projects.
Main duties of the job To screen, coordinate and recruit eligible patients, carry out clinical tasks such as venepuncture and ECG, meticulously record various data points and deliver interventions according to specific study protocols. You will be responsible for data entry, ensuring patient safety and maintaining high levels of quality assurance expected at GSTT. You will also be involved in the set-up of new trials and will be required to work within multidisciplinary teams to deliver excellent quality clinical research.

Person Specification Qualifications/ Education
Degree in life sciences or related field or equivalent theoretical knowledge
Evidence of continuing professional development
GCP certification
Commitment to work towards joining the AHCS accredited CRP register
Member of NIHR CRP directory
Experience of working in a relevant research setting
Experience of working in a patient/participant facing role with clinical duties
Experience of working on interventional studies or complex/ large scale observational studies
Experience with electronic case report forms and computer packages
Experience supervising others
Experience of working on clinical trials of drugs, therapies or interventions
Skills/Knowledge/ Ability
Knowledge of clinical research governance processes
Able to conduct clinical tasks such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse and respiratory observations
Able to collect blood samples via venepuncture
IT skills, specifically in database management, Microsoft Excel and eRecord
Proficient in cannulation and serial sampling
Proficient in conducting ECG
Presentation and teaching skills
