The NHS Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire Integrated Care Board (BSW ICB) is part of the BSW Together Integrated Care System (ICS). The ICB oversees how money is spent and makes sure that health services work well and are of high quality. It brings together hospitals, primary care, local councils, hospices, voluntary community, and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations and Healthwatch partners in our local places: Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire. As Compliance Officer, you will assist us with the maintenance and continuous development of the ICB's policy framework, and with the continuous development, implementation and monitoring of controls and compliance. The role's focus is on information governance. You will support the continuous development, maintenance and implementation of our information governance policies; support our annual completion of the Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT); support the organisation's responses to FoI requests and subject access requests (SAR); and support the management of and response to information governance incidents. Main duties of the job

The role supports the ICB's and colleagues' compliance with internal policies and processes, with data protection legislation, and with the Freedom of Information (FoI) Act. The role plays an important role in the organisation's annual completion of the Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT). The role assists with the maintenance and continuous development of the ICB's policy framework, and supports/assists with the continuous development, implementation and monitoring of controls and compliance. Knowledge, Training and Experience

Educated to degree level in relevant subject, or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in the specialist area. Good knowledge and understanding of the FoI Act and of data protection legislation, and track record/experience of applying these for the purposes of processing FoI and SAR requests and responses. Demonstrable appreciation and respect for the confidentiality of personal identifiable data. Experience of policy development and implementation, and good understanding/appreciation of the importance of compliance. Good understanding of administrative procedures, project management and information analysis. Has previously worked in a similar policy, compliance, or information governance position within the public sector. Demonstrable experience of technology-assisted meticulous document checking and editing skills, with scrupulous attention to detail. Communication Skills

Good communication on complex/technical information, requiring developed interpersonal and oral/written communication skills. Ability to pull together data and information into comprehensive draft reports. Negotiating, networking and persuasive skills. Appreciation and respect for the highly sensitive nature of information and data that is handled on a regular basis. Analytical & Planning Skills

Problem solving skills and ability to respond to sudden unexpected demands. Excellent time management skills, with the ability to re-prioritise. Can discern when issues require escalation, and acts on this in a timely manner. Competent planner, organises and coordinates work per standard operating procedure and statutory timeframes.
