The Paediatric Diabetes service will deliver a seamless service and provide the highest level of expert nursing care to children and young people with diabetes, and their families, in line with agreed standards including the National Service Framework for Children and NICE guidelines. The post holder will assist in the continued development of the Paediatric Diabetes service and work in close conjunction with their Manager and the named Paediatricians for Endocrinology. The post holder will ensure that the aims and objectives of the Paediatric Diabetes service are delivered and implemented to continually improve the standard of care that children receive. The post holder will be an advocate for children and young people with diabetes, and their families, promoting child-focused, family-centred care and act as a resource for the multi-agency team. The post holder will have knowledge of the Senior Management Team and the development of the strategic plan for the Paediatric Diabetes service, taking into account the continuous quality improvement programme, to ensure the delivery of an efficient and cost-effective service in line with Best Practice Tariff. Registered Sick Children's Nurse/ Registered RN (Child) Relevant 1st degree or equivalent Mentorship Course or equivalent Up to date registration with the NMC Specialist Clinical Course Experience
Experience of delivering teaching/education Experience of working in a relevant area Experience of being involved in clinical audit and evaluation Experience of attending Paediatric Diabetes clinics Knowledge
IT literate including use of Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint Skills
