Be an active member of the multidisciplinary clinical team, providing a Physiotherapy service in Alexandra Rehab Unit. Participate in the band 5 preceptorship programme, and undertake regular supervision and reflective practice. Work within professional standards and clinical guidelines, promote best practice and undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner, including assessing and treating own caseload of clients, with support of senior staff. Be aware of and adhere to professional standards and organizational standards. Build up and maintain key relationships with referring services and the band 5 rotational services to facilitate appropriate referrals and an understanding of the role of the Physiotherapist and the Multi-professional team. Work in a variety of settings including clinics, clients' own homes, residential care homes, continuing care homes, and community centres. Support self and service development through active participation in Continuing Professional Development (CPD), in-service training, and by participating in any audit or research being undertaken by the service. Main duties of the job

Support the members of the team in the day-to-day operation of the Service. This may include answering queries, fielding referrals, contributing to team discussions, responding to client needs, delegating and supervising appropriate tasks to Rehabilitation assistants and administrative staff, communicating with other team members and outside agencies, and other operational activities. Participate in the Rehabilitation process when required. This will require the use of clinical reasoning skills to identify appropriate referrals to teams within CLCH Rehabilitation, prioritising the referrals in accordance with prioritisation criteria. Respond to inconsistent work patterns and manage a diary, re-prioritising as required. Be compliant with the Trust's complaints procedure and take appropriate action as necessary in accordance with the procedure. Initiate and participate in change management processes as needed. Job responsibilities

Be professional and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of your own work, including the management of clients in your care. Ensure confidentiality at all times. Maintain a standard of documentation that meets CSP and Trust guidelines. Work autonomously while being aware of professional limitations and seeking support as necessary through formal and informal individual sessions with peers/more senior physiotherapists. Write comprehensive and informative reports, letters, and documentation regarding individual client diagnosis, progress, and outcomes to a variety of sources, e.g., GPs, case managers. Be responsible for gaining valid, informed consent for assessment, treatment interventions, and sharing of information in compliance with legal and professional guidelines. Interpret and follow these guidelines in circumstances where clients do not have the capacity to provide informed consent. Person Specification

Education/Qualification

BSc degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy. Evidence of continuous professional and personal development relevant to rotations. Registration with the Health Professions Council. Wide-ranging student experience including musculoskeletal outpatients, adult/older people's rehabilitation, community rehabilitation. Registration with a special interest group. Student rotations to include orthopedics and acute medicine. Experience

Experience of working within NHS environment as a student. Able to manage a caseload efficiently. Demonstrate professional independence while recognizing boundaries of own practice. Effective physiotherapy manual skills to assess and treat patients with neuro-musculoskeletal conditions. Research project carried out at undergraduate level. Able to communicate effectively with those who have difficulty communicating. Effective interpersonal skills to liaise with all professionals to enhance patient care pathways. Experience working as an assistant or volunteer within musculoskeletal, rehabilitation, or community settings. Skills and Knowledge

Knowledge of Clinical Governance and its influence on Service Development. Knowledge of recent research supporting or negating physiotherapy management of neuro-musculoskeletal conditions. Knowledge and understanding of complex medical conditions including neurological conditions, falls, and multi-pathologies. Knowledge of NICE guidelines and the NSF's relevant to the area of practice.
