Based in Homerton Hospital Psych Liaison Team (HPM), the Senior Liaison Practitioner role involves giving clinical guidance to junior staff and SHOs across the Crisis Pathway as needed, taking on complex clinical cases, and working independently to deliver high-quality crisis assessment work. This role also involves triage shifts, which are 14:00-22:00, during which short triage assessments are completed using your enhanced clinical expertise to quickly conclude suitability for the next destination. Managerial aspects involve supervision of several B6 staff and leadership of significant parts of service improvement, quality assurance, and relational building with our stakeholders. The successful candidate will be expected to support the rest of the Crisis Pathway as needed, with frequent input into the Crisis Assessment team in particular being part of the role. As mentioned above, the Senior Liaison Practitioner role includes: Giving clinical guidance to junior staff and SHOs across the Crisis Pathway. Taking on complex clinical cases. Delivering high-quality crisis assessment work. Conducting triage shifts from 14:00-22:00. Completing short triage assessments using enhanced clinical expertise. Supervising several B6 staff. Leading parts of service improvement and quality assurance. Building relationships with stakeholders. Person Specification

Experience

Substantial post-qualification experience in the field of mental health crisis. Experience of working in a multidisciplinary mental health team. Previous experience of working autonomously. Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment and ensuring culturally sensitive nursing practice. Extensive experience of assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating programmes of care. Essential experience of writing concise and clear clinical reports. Experience of contributing to the development of new services, preferably in mental health. Experience of leadership roles or demonstrating leadership qualities. Experience of leading quality improvement work. Education/ Qualification/ Training

Registered Mental Health Nurse or Registered Social Worker. Current Professional Registration. Mentorship Preparation or equivalent. Recognized post-registration training. CBT and/or brief intervention/solution-focused therapy and/or motivational interviewing or willingness to undertake. Risk assessment and management training or willingness to undertake. Evidence of continual professional development. Knowledge and Skills

Well-developed and confident professional assessment skills. Skills in providing effective nursing leadership. Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment. Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills. Ability to make balanced clinical judgments and decisions. Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and electronic. Ability to work collaboratively and respectfully with colleagues from various professional backgrounds. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
