If so, we may have the perfect opportunity for you as we have a vacancy for a part-time Band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialist in Urology Oncology. This role involves delivering high-quality support and care to patients on the Urological cancer pathways. You will work autonomously and as part of a team, providing care through clinics (either face-to-face or via telephone) and supporting patients on the wards. You will be working within a team of Cancer Nurse Specialists, a Cancer Care Coordinator, Consultants, and the wider MDT to deliver standards of care and practice associated with the Local and National Cancer frameworks and Guidance. Additionally, the team works closely with urology and oncology specialists in Leeds. Experience of nursing within Urology and/or Oncology is desirable, although support and education will be provided with mentorship. Main Duties of the Job
Our nurse specialists have experience in cancer nursing and specialise in the care and support of patients with Urology Oncology disease, including supporting the patient's families and carers. You will provide specialist care and advice to patients from diagnosis through treatment, living with, and beyond Cancer. This includes: Providing personalised care and support to patients. Understanding what is important to the patient. Discussing and explaining diagnosis and treatment options available. Nurse-led diagnosis clinics. Providing Macmillan Holistic Needs Assessments at diagnosis and end of treatment, including completion of end of treatment summaries with referrals to a wide range of support utilizing the local community where appropriate. Developing links with other professionals, specialist teams, and services in primary, secondary, tertiary, and community care. Supported Self-Management. Acting as a referral and liaison for the MDT and being an information resource for those involved in the care and management of urological malignancies. Working autonomously as a specialist resource for uro-oncology patients with cancer conditions, their carers, and other professionals. Providing care for a caseload of patients. Aiming to prevent unnecessary admissions. About Us

Relevant post-registration experience at Band 5 or above in Oncology or Urology. Experience of multi-professional working. Evidence of good communication skills. Experience of audit and research. Leadership and management experience. Experience of teaching. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
