An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Emergency Quadrant Ward Clerk to join the Emergency Care Directorate's Administration Team at Ysbty Glan Clwyd. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, relatives, and visitors to the Acute Assessment Unit and must demonstrate a professional and sensitive manner and maintain confidentiality at all times. A good standard of education is required, previous experience of working in an administrative/customer service setting, and excellent communication skills. You will need to be able to work as part of a team and be efficient and organized with your own workload. You will join a friendly team that provides a variety of reception and administrative duties to assist the smooth running of the Acute Assessment Unit. You will also be required to provide support cover in other areas of the Emergency Quadrant. Previous ward clerk experience and knowledge of the Welsh Patient Administration System (WPAS) is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided. Main duties of the job

The Ward Clerk will give efficient clerical assistance to the Emergency Quadrant. The provision of an efficient clerical service is essential to ensure the speedy admission, discharge, and transfer of patients. By the nature of the duties, the Ward Clerk will be required to maintain strict confidentiality and will be expected to deal with patients and relatives with courtesy and discretion at all times. The Ward Clerk is responsible to the Ward Managers in providing an efficient clerical service across the Emergency Quadrant. For accountability and development purposes, the Ward Clerk will be under the direct responsibility of the Administration Manager. The ability to speak Welsh is essential for this role About us

Qualifications

Maths/English GCSE or equivalent experience NVQ 2 in administration NVQ in customer service ECDL Experience

Sufficient months of previous clerical/office/reception/ward duties Working with the public Working in a busy environment General experience of admin functions Skills
