Responsibilities:
To take responsibility for receiving, processing and organising specimens pertaining to the UMBRELLA study. To work with other histopathology research staff in the Cancer section. To carry out all sample preparation and nucleic acid quality assessments for molecular investigations related to the UMBRELLA study and to liaise with collaborators in the UK and abroad. To carry out all laboratory investigations to a high standard of technical excellence. To assist the clinical staff with translational research specimen dissection and sample selection related to the UMBRELLA study on a routine basis, and other studies as required. To take responsibility for the quality and accuracy of results produced. To assist Senior research staff in writing and developing standard operating procedures and other documentation as required. To plan and take responsibility for the efficient and effective organisation of own work.
