The Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (ED&I) Consultant will join the University's specialist ED&I team, which sits in the Human Resources Division. The team is responsible for designing and delivering an ambitious programme of institutional and cultural change at the University.
The Role:
As an ED&I Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the University's strategic objectives. Your responsibilities include:
Providing strategic advice.
Leading specific tasks and projects.
Taking a leadership role in designated protected characteristics or policy areas.
Serving as the main ED&I adviser for several allocated Schools or Non-School Institutions.
Supporting the implementation of a comprehensive framework designed to promote inclusive staff recruitment, representation, and overall experience.
Ensuring statutory compliance, overseeing equalities monitoring and reporting, and conducting Equality Impact Assessments.
Facilitating various committees and working groups.
Leading the University's participation in national equality charters or benchmarking within your specific ED&I specialist area.
About you:
In order to succeed in this role, you will have current and comprehensive knowledge of the sector, proficiency in best practices, knowledge of relevant legislation (i.e., Equality Act 2010), and a track record of translating equality initiatives and strategy into tangible results. An essential attribute is the ability to understand sensitivities related to the ED&I agenda and devise innovative strategies to enhance engagement. Experience working on disability-related matters would be beneficial, though not an essential requirement.
